God doesn’t have to bless us, but he often does.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about one blessing in particular: the blessing of friendship. God has allowed me to know some incredible people, and he continues to use each one to shape me and edify me. I would not be who I am were it not for the blessing of friends.
I’m an introvert. Give me some books, a pen, and a cup of coffee, and I’m happy to hide away from people for hours. Yet consistently, God has shown me my need of good, strong friendships. Community holds me accountable, challenges me to grow, encourages me in my weaknesses, and strengthens me for service. Furthermore, good friendships serve to point me toward the greatest friend, Jesus.
This season, in the midst of the busyness, let’s thank God for the grace he shows by blessing us with friends. Let’s pray for opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters as they have served us. And may we love each other in a way that reflects the love we’ve been shown. May God be glorified through it all.
In this season of life, I am more thankful than ever for the blessing of friendship. I have been given some wonderful friends who have truly become my family. I am thankful for your friendship during college. You were (are) a blessing! Great post!
